Automate Snowflake with AI workflows

Ask questions of your Snowflake data in plain English, search it semantically and run the SQL your admin exposes, from workflows that act on the answer.

  2. Ask Cortex AnalystAI
  3. Summarize the numbersAI
  4. Post to Slackaction
  5. Team informeddone

Snowflake holds the data, and most teams still move answers out of it by hand. Spojit connects to Snowflake's managed MCP server, so workflows and agents can use Cortex Analyst for text-to-SQL, Cortex Search for semantic search and any SQL tools your admin registers, all under Snowflake's own role-based access control.

How Spojit connects Snowflake

Spojit connects to Snowflake through Snowflake's managed MCP server, using a programmatic access token for a user whose role can use the MCP server object. A Snowflake admin creates the MCP server object first; Spojit then lists whatever tools it exposes.

What you need
  • A Snowflake MCP server object created by your admin (CREATE MCP SERVER)
  • A programmatic access token for a user with a role granted USAGE on it
  • Your account URL, database, schema and MCP server name
Automations you can build

What you can automate in Snowflake

When

Every Monday

Spojit does

Ask Cortex Analyst for last week's key numbers and send the summary to the leadership channel

When

A support ticket asks about an order

Spojit does

Look the order up in Snowflake and draft the answer for the agent

When

A metric moves outside its normal range

Spojit does

Investigate with Cortex Analyst and post what changed

When

A report is due

Spojit does

Run the registered SQL and email the results as a PDF report with a short AI summary

What you get

Built for real Snowflake work

Plain-English questions

Cortex Analyst turns a question into SQL against the semantic views you define.

Semantic search

Cortex Search finds the right records in unstructured or text-heavy data.

Snowflake's permissions

Every call runs under the role behind your token, so access stays governed in Snowflake.

Integration notes

Good to know about connecting Snowflake

The account-side setup is the long pole: the MCP server object, the role grant and the access token all have to exist before the connection works. An empty tool list usually means the database, schema or server name does not match the object.

The tools available are exactly the ones registered on the MCP server object, so adding a capability is a change in Snowflake, not in Spojit.

The access token carries the user's role, so scope that role narrowly, for example read-only on the tables an agent needs.

The difference

Why teams automate Snowflake on Spojit

With Spojit

  • Uses Snowflake's own managed MCP server, so the tools and permissions are defined in Snowflake.
  • Agents can act on the answer: post it, file it, open a ticket or update another system.
  • Every tool call is checked against your policy and recorded, which matters when an agent can query company data.
FAQ

Snowflake automation, answered

Does Spojit need a Snowflake username and password?

No. Spojit uses a programmatic access token for a user whose role is granted access to the MCP server object.

Can a workflow write data to Snowflake?

If your admin registers SQL tools that write, yes. The MCP server object decides what is allowed, and the token's role enforces it.

Where are the setup steps?

The Snowflake connector documentation walks through creating the MCP server object, the role grant and the token.

What is possible depends on your plan and authorized Snowflake API access. Some endpoints are gated by the vendor or your account tier, so not every workflow is available on every account from day one. You can request a feature or integration any time, and we will get in touch to figure out how to make it work.
