Convert ZPL labels to PDF automatically

Carriers often return labels as ZPL for thermal printers. Spojit sends them through Labelary to get PDFs or images, ready to print anywhere or attach to an order.

  3. Receive PDFaction

  5. Ready to printdone

Many carrier APIs return shipping labels as ZPL, the language Zebra thermal printers speak. That is fine at a packing bench with a Zebra, and a problem everywhere else. Spojit adds a Labelary step to the shipping workflow, converting each ZPL label to a PDF or PNG so it can print on an office printer, attach to an email or be stored with the order.

How Spojit connects Labelary

Spojit calls Labelary's label API with HTTP Requests. Standard use needs no credentials, and a Labelary premium plan raises the rate limits for high volumes. There is no pre-built tile: Miraxa builds the requests.

What you need
  • Nothing for standard use
  • A Labelary premium plan if you convert labels at high volume
Automations you can build

What you can automate in Labelary

When

A carrier returns a ZPL label

Spojit does

Convert it to a PDF with Labelary and attach it to the order

When

A dropshipper needs the label

Spojit does

Email them the PDF version of the carrier's ZPL label

When

Labels for a batch of orders are created

Spojit does

Combine them into one PDF for the warehouse to print

When

A label fails to print

Spojit does

Render a PNG preview so support can see what the carrier returned

What you get

Built for real Labelary work

ZPL to PDF or PNG

Any carrier's ZPL converted at the right density and label size for your printer.

Fits any shipping flow

One extra step after the carrier call, whichever carrier produced the label.

Rate limits handled

Requests are paced and retried, so a busy dispatch run does not drop labels.

Integration notes

Good to know about connecting Labelary

Each request names the print density and the label size in the URL, for example 8 dots per millimetre on a 4 by 6 inch label. Matching those to the carrier's label is what keeps barcodes scannable.

Labelary is a shared service with rate limits, and it answers with HTTP 429 when they are reached. The workflow retries with a pause rather than failing the shipment.

A single request accepts a limited number of labels, so large batches are split across requests and merged afterwards.

The difference

Why teams automate Labelary on Spojit

With Spojit

  • Labels from any carrier become printable PDFs in one extra step.
  • Works with labels from DHL Express, Australia Post, Team Global Express or any carrier that returns ZPL.
  • Retries are built into the workflow, which is what a shared, rate-limited service needs.
FAQ

Labelary automation, answered

Why convert ZPL at all?

ZPL only prints on thermal label printers. A PDF or PNG prints on any printer and can be emailed or stored with the order.

Does Labelary cost anything?

Labelary is free for standard use, with paid premium plans for higher volumes.

Which carriers return ZPL?

Many carrier APIs can return labels as ZPL. If yours does, Spojit can convert them as part of the same shipping workflow.

What is possible depends on your plan and authorized Labelary API access. Some endpoints are gated by the vendor or your account tier, so not every workflow is available on every account from day one. You can request a feature or integration any time, and we will get in touch to figure out how to make it work.
