Connect Stripe to Power BI
Revenue, refunds, payouts and subscription changes in Power BI, updated from Stripe events instead of monthly CSV exports.

Most teams get Stripe into Power BI by exporting CSVs from the Stripe dashboard or paying for a separate ETL tool. Spojit receives Stripe events on a signed webhook, writes typed rows for charges, refunds, payouts and subscriptions to a database or warehouse Power BI already reads, such as Snowflake or MySQL, and triggers a semantic model refresh through the Power BI REST API.
Refreshing a semantic model through the Power BI REST API needs a Microsoft Entra app registration or service principal with access to the workspace, plus a database or warehouse Power BI already reads, such as Snowflake or MySQL. Stripe connects with an API key and a webhook signing secret.
Stripe and Power BI, working together
When a charge succeeds in Stripe
insert a typed payment row, fee included, into the table Power BI reads
When a refund or dispute is created in Stripe
record it against the original payment row
When a payout is paid in Stripe
add the payout and its balance transactions for reconciliation reports
When a subscription changes in Stripe
update the recurring revenue fields and refresh the Power BI semantic model
Built for how Stripe and Power BI really work
Signed Stripe webhooks
Spojit verifies each Stripe event's signature before it writes anything, and reads extra detail through its built-in Stripe connector.
Refresh when the data changes
Miraxa builds the Power BI REST API call that refreshes your semantic model once new rows land, instead of waiting for the next scheduled refresh.
No duplicate revenue
Writes are keyed on the Stripe event ID, so a retried webhook updates a row instead of adding a second one.
Why teams build this on Spojit
Power BI refreshes from a database on a schedule, but it does not receive Stripe webhooks, and push datasets, the old way to stream rows in over the API, stop accepting new models after October 2027. Spojit handles the Stripe side: it turns each event into typed rows in a source Power BI already connects to, and refreshes the model when revenue changes.
With Spojit
- Direct Mode maps Stripe objects to columns with no AI credits.
- Durable execution retries warehouse timeouts, so an event is never half-written.
- Billed by execution time, not per row or per event.
Stripe + Power BI, answered
Do I need a data warehouse?
You need a source Power BI can read, such as Snowflake or MySQL. Spojit writes the rows there, and Power BI's own connector for that source does the rest.
Why not push rows straight into Power BI?
Microsoft is retiring push and streaming semantic models: new ones cannot be created after October 31, 2027. Landing rows in a warehouse and refreshing the model is the pattern that lasts.
Can I backfill historical Stripe data?
Yes. Run the same workflow on demand over a date range through the Stripe connector, and the event-ID keys keep it from doubling rows already loaded.
What is possible depends on your plan and authorized API access. Some Stripe and Power BI endpoints and capabilities are gated by the vendor (for example, parts of an API may require a higher tier, and write access can require a custom or add-on connection on an eligible plan), so not every workflow is available on every account from day one. You can request a feature or integration any time, and we will get in touch to figure out how to make it work.
