Australia Post automation

Automate Australia Post shipping

Create eParcel and StarTrack shipments from your orders, create the labels, lodge the day's order before pickup and track every parcel, without anyone retyping an address.

  1. Order ready to shiptrigger
  2. Create AusPost shipmentaction
  3. Save labelaction
  4. Lodge order at pickupaction
  5. Tracking synceddone

Australia Post's Shipping and Tracking API is how eParcel and StarTrack contract customers book parcels in software instead of in the Parcel Send portal. Spojit runs that whole cycle as a workflow: take an order from your store or ERP, create the shipment, create the label, close the day's order before the truck arrives, then follow each article until it is delivered.

How Spojit connects Australia Post

Spojit connects to Australia Post through the Shipping and Tracking API with HTTP Requests: Basic authentication with your API key and password, plus your account number on every call. Miraxa builds the requests, so there is no pre-built tile to wait for.

What you need

Integration notes

Good to know about connecting Australia Post

API access is tied to an eParcel or StarTrack contract. Once approved you get an account number and test bed credentials first, and Australia Post asks for a label PDF and an order summary generated in the test bed before it switches you to production.

Every request carries the account number in an Account-Number header next to Basic authentication. The account number decides which contract products and prices apply, so a merchant with several accounts needs the right one on each call.

The cycle is shipments, then labels, then the order. Labels are printed before the order is lodged, and Australia Post accepts one order per pickup from each account, so the workflow batches the day's shipments instead of lodging each one.

If you print labels yourself instead of using the Create Labels call, the article ID, consignment ID and barcode ID from your own labels have to be supplied when the order is created.

The public Postage Assessment Calculator only returns retail prices. Contract rates come from the Shipping and Tracking API's item prices call, which is the one to use for checkout quotes.

The difference

Why teams automate Australia Post on Spojit

With Spojit

  • Product codes, the shipment, label and order sequence and test bed sign-off are handled in the workflow.
  • Durable execution checkpoints every step, so when a later step fails the workflow resumes there instead of booking the shipment again.
  • Miraxa builds the calls from the Australia Post API, so new endpoints are not waiting on a connector release.

FAQ

Australia Post automation, answered

Can I use this with a MyPost Business account?

Australia Post currently makes the Shipping and Tracking API available to eParcel and StarTrack contract customers. If you ship through MyPost Business, talk to us about the options for your volume.

Do I have to use Australia Post's labels?

No. Spojit can create labels through the API, or you can print your own, as long as the article, consignment and barcode IDs from your labels are supplied when the order is lodged.

Does Spojit work with Shippit or ShipStation as well?

Yes. If you book Australia Post through Shippit or ShipStation, Spojit can work alongside them, for example writing tracking back to orders in both systems.

What is possible depends on your plan and authorized Australia Post API access. Some endpoints are gated by the vendor or your account tier, so not every workflow is available on every account from day one. You can request a feature or integration any time, and we will get in touch to figure out how to make it work.
