Validate Magento addresses on every order
Spojit checks each new Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) order's shipping address with the Google Address Validation API. Confirmed addresses ship as normal, small corrections are applied, and uncertain ones put the order on hold for a person.

The workflow, step by step
Pick up new orders
A schedule reads orders placed since the last run through the Adobe Commerce connector, so every order is checked once.
Validate the address
The shipping address and country go to the Google Address Validation API, which returns a verdict on completeness and which parts it could confirm.
Route on the verdict
Complete, confirmed addresses continue. Where Google suggests a standardized address with confidence, the order's address is updated and a comment records the change.
Hold what needs a person
Orders with unconfirmed or missing parts are put on hold in Magento, and the team gets the original and suggested address side by side.
Release when checked
Once a person confirms or corrects the address, the order is released and continues to fulfilment.
Adobe Commerce is a built-in connector in Spojit, connected with the access token from an integration you create in the Magento admin under System, Extensions, Integrations, plus your store URL and store code.
- Your Adobe Commerce or Magento 2 store URL and store code
- An integration access token with the API resources your workflows need
Ways to adapt it
- Validate at the moment of checkout instead, from a webhook your theme calls, so the customer can fix the address themselves.
- Only validate international orders, or orders above a value, to control Google's per-request cost.
- Email the customer automatically when an address cannot be confirmed, with a link to reply with the right one.
- Use the same workflow for WooCommerce, Shopify or BigCommerce orders.
Questions, answered
Does this need a Magento extension?
No. Spojit reads and updates orders through the Magento REST API and calls Google from the workflow.
What does Google's Address Validation API cost?
Google bills per request through your Google Cloud project. Validating once per order keeps the cost predictable.
Does it work for Australian addresses?
Yes. The Google Address Validation API covers Australia, and passing the country code with each address improves results.
